After using the card for just 3 days, I returned it to the store. Why? Let's start with my first issue.
When I removed the drivers from my 4070 Ti and plugged in the new card, I installed the latest drivers. I immediately
noticed that my vertical monitor, even though it was set to portrait mode within Windows, was behaving like a horizontal monitor when
I moved the cursor over to it, with a weird offset between where the mouse was and where it showed on the monitor.
I had to fully reinstall Windows to fix this issue; doing a DDU swipe didn't fix it. With that out of the way, the Intel Graphics Software
is a waste of space. It's filled with basic features that are mostly all in Windows anyway.
Some gaming issues: every single game jitters (not in benchmarks with CapFrameX though, the charts are smooth... mostly). Watch_Dogs 2 kept complaining about the driver being out of date
and the GPU being under the minimum requirements.
Oh yeah, I wanted to record using OBS since Intel supposedly has "the best encoder." Well, I couldn't record any videos using QSV AV1 or QSV H264;
the videos were having encoding overload issues during recording, so the footage looks like it stutters while the game runs fine.
When I switched the presets to use the one from my iGPU or CPU, my performance was cut in half.
Even using ShareX to record a short video or GIF, the output is unusable. Multiple users have reported this issue on the B580, but there is no fix in sight. When I was listening to Spotify with the "Now Playing View"
enabled, the video encoder was fully loaded at 100%.
However, some games did run fine like RDR and Cosmic Shake (stutter and jitter wise). XeSS, depending on the game,
is not bad - older versions are kind of ass, but newer ones are good. I tried Xe-FG and Xe-LL in Marvel Rivals and F1 24; I was not impressed. I tried them before and after I reset my PC.
After resetting, I miraculously gained performance. Xe-FG didn't appear to have any noticeable artifacting, and Xe-LL didn't even feel like it was turned on - it actually felt like it got worse.
Somehow, this was worse than using my previous two AMD GPUs (RX 5700 and RX 6900 XT), and it's only been 3 days.
